Unlock Chrome Beta’s Secret Side-Scroller Game on Android

I’m sure you’ve been here before: sitting on an airplane, bored out of your mind, and you forgot to install a few games or download a movie before your flight departed. No worries, though. If you have the latest Chrome Beta installed on your Android, there’s a fun little mini-game baked right into the “You are offline” screen.

Make Sure Your Chrome Beta Is Up to Date

This neat little trick is currently exclusive to the latest version of Chrome Beta for Android. Make sure you have the app installed and updated, then I’ll show you how to access the mini-game below.

Trying Out the Mini-Game

This cool little game is only accessible when you’re offline, so if you’d like to try it out now, put your device into Airplane mode.

Then, all you have to do is type any address into Chrome Beta’s address bar. You’ll be greeted with the standard “You are offline” page.

But here’s where the fun begins. Tap the dinosaur, and the mini-game will start right up. It’s a side-scroller, so tap the screen to help the T-Rex avoid all of the cacti that he’s running towards.

Honestly, I think this game is incredibly fun, and I know it would tide me over for a good half hour or so. What’s your high score so far? Let us know in the comments section below, and make sure to check out Gadget Hacks on Facebook and Twitter to keep updated on all of the latest and greatest.
