Android may be one of the world’s most popular operating systems, but the fragmentation of it between devices can cause some confusion. Known for their deliciously sweet names, Gingerbread, Froyo, and Jelly Bean are just of few of the many versions of Android your device could be running.

Newer devices that you’ve scored are probably running the latest Android version, 4.4 KitKat, and if it’s not a Google Nexus device, probably a version based on 4.3 Jelly Bean.

Therein lies the problem. Knowing what OS does what, and what devices should run a certain OS can get a little messy, especially when dealing with older devices. So, XDA forums member newaageappz created a simple little app to help bring the history of Android to the masses.

Available for fee on Google Play, Google Android Info (for Android 3.0 Honeycomb and higher) gives users the information they want about all the versions of Android out there, and even lets you create simple apps to test on any device.
