The OnePlus Watch 3 Price Is Changing Again
Summary
- OnePlus Watch 3 faces price reduction in the US to $349.99 due to supply chain improvements.
- Company reverses previous price increase attributed to “current market conditions”.
- Tariffs still in place, making tech more costly; OnePlus claims $349.99 final MSRP for watch in US.
Recently, the OnePlus Watch 3 was news not because of its hilarious manufacturing error, but because of its insane price—OnePlus decided to finally launch it at a $499.99 price point, a move that was widely attributed to tariffs. Now, it looks like OnePlus might have figured things out well enough to roll back to the previous price.
OnePlus has announced a significant price reduction for its OnePlus Watch 3 in the United States, less than three weeks after implementing an equally substantial price increase. The smartwatch, which saw its price jump to $499.99 earlier this month, is now listed at an MSRP of $349.99—the previous price OnePlus had announced the smartwatch at before tariffs were put in place. The initial price hike occurred on April 10, with OnePlus attributing the increase from its original launch price of $499.99 to “current market conditions”—if you’re able to read the room and you’ve read our previous coverage, you probably know very well by now what those “market conditions” are.

OnePlus Watch 3 Delayed Until April Due to Hilarious Issue
The issue itself is funny, but the delay might not be.
The company cited recent adjustments within its supply chain as the reason for the abrupt reversal—which the company says have generated savings that OnePlus intends to pass on to consumers. But frankly, the company is probably doing this because $499.99 is too expensive for this smartwatch, and it’s struggling to compete with options already on store shelves. OnePlus needs to make a profit, but it also needs to compete, so it’s responsible to find a price point where it can do both. The new $349.99 price point should be the final MSRP for the OnePlus Watch 3 in the US, and according to OnePlus, it “will not be changed going forward.”
This news does not mean that tariffs are not still in place. They haven’t substantially increased again, but they’re still in place and making all trade between China and the US significantly more expensive. It was recently reported that both China and the US were showing a willingness to negotiate a proper trade agreement, but in response to these rumors, China said last Friday that it was willing to sit down to talk only if the US removes “all unilateral tariffs imposed on China, if it wants to solve the problem.” Unless both countries negotiate a trade agreement or back down on tariffs, you can still expect your tech to continue becoming insanely expensive. Unless a seller/manufacturer shifts production elsewhere, figures out savings out of thin air, or is willing to eat the cost of the tariffs.
The OnePlus Watch 3 was definitely one of the products we’ve seen impacted the most by tariffs, but thankfully, if you were looking forward to buying one at its original price, you should now be able to do so.
