The Fitbit Ace LTE is Getting More Chat Options
Android
The Fitbit Ace LTE is Google’s smartwatch for children, with communication and tracking features for parents. Now the watch is getting more functionality, including new chat options for families to use.
Just in time for the holiday season, Fitbit has announced a suite of new features for its Ace LTE smartwatch that will make it much more fun to use. One of the key additions is the introduction of family group chat, allowing the entire family to communicate directly through the Ace LTE device or the Ace app. This feature utilizes Google’s own Family Link feature to ensure connection with all family members.
Furthermore, if you bought more than one smartwatch for your kids, siblings can now interact directly with each other by sending messages or making calls through their Ace LTE smartwatches. Fitbit is also promoting family engagement through new Family Quests that encourage collective activity, with everyone’s contribution helping to unlock rewards and progress towards shared goals.
To further make fitness into “funness,” Fitbit has added a new game called “Solar Sword” to its Fitbit Arcade. In this game, kids are tasked with protecting their village from monsters using the legendary Solar Sword. Like other Fitbit Arcade games, increased physical activity unlocks more features and advancements in the game. Finally, Fitbit has introduced two new “Noodle” watch faces designed to help kids visualize their progress towards their daily activity goals.
We reviewed the Fitbit Ace LTE back when it was released a few months ago, and we found it to be lots of fun. With these updates, it’s becoming even better, and more importantly, more useful. Make sure to update your kids’ smartwatches whenever the update shows up on them—it can be a few days or weeks before the whole set of features becomes available for everyone.
