Just as we started running through the features packed into the Android Oreo beta for the Galaxy S8, Samsung has started pushing out the second beta to eligible devices. According to DroidVendor, the update is rolling out as build G955USQU1ZQK1 for the Galaxy S8 Plus. The rollout should arrive as an OTA for anyone that is currently running the first beta.
The first Oreo beta for the S8 brought several notable improvements and new features. Samsung revamped their stock keyboard with new themes, usability options, and improved accuracy. Home screen customization gained robust options like colorized folders and app shortcuts for supported apps. Notification channels and pin/snooze functionality makes alert management much easier on Android 8.0. Thus far, it appears the second beta simply improves performance (hopefully battery life, as it was poor on beta one) and squashes some bugs.
We will be on the lookout for any new features and comment on stability improvements as soon as the beta 2 update hits our device. In the meantime, be sure to let us know in the comments if you are enjoying the first S8 Oreo beta, and if you have received the second update!
