Charging up your phone or your controller has looked exactly the same for decades—you can plug in a cable or, more recently, you can place it in a charging pad and have it charged wirelessly. This won’t fundamentally change that, but at least you’ll look cooler doing it.

Nanoleaf has just introduced a new multifunctional desk accessory, the Pegboard Desk Dock. The product itself incorporates 32 full-color RGB LEDs distributed on both its front and back surfaces. This dual-sided illumination serves two purposes: providing direct task lighting onto the desk surface and casting indirect ambient light onto the wall behind it, making your room feel a little more livid if it’s the aesthetic you’re going after.

The dock itself can rotate, letting you easily switch which side faces forward at a given time. One side presents a clean, illuminated panel focused solely on lighting. The other side features a perforated “pegboard” style cover, equipped with four repositionable support arms. These arms can be configured to securely hold various accessories, preventing clutter and keeping frequently used items within reach and on display. This allows you to showcase items like custom controllers or handheld gaming devices, either while they’re charging or just when you’re not using them. If you have limited edition custom controllers, for one, the magic of their limited design is lost when you’re grabbing it to play, so you can also proudly display it in your room.

The support arms can also take a lot of other tech, like your headphones or even your smartphone while it charges. It’s all about organization. You don’t have to keep stuff laying around all over your desk when you can get a couple of these bad boys and put all of your smaller devices or peripherals there. You can keep your tech looking pretty while you’re not using it.

The unit features three output USB ports: one USB-A and two USB-C. These ports allow users to charge devices directly on the dock, supporting charging speeds of up to 15W. So they are actually very good for charging—the 15W limit could get limiting for smartphones, but for the rest of your stuff, it should be just fine. An additional, separate USB-C port is dedicated to providing power to the Pegboard Desk Dock itself, connecting to a standard wall outlet via an adapter. Devices connected to the dock’s USB ports can also maintain a connection to a computer if you want, passing data through while charging.

Plus other stuff.

What’s also great about this is that it supports all kinds of lighting variations thanks to the dock’s onboard software. The Nanoleaf software provides access to a suite of customization options common to Nanoleaf’s ecosystem. You can select from a whole bunch of pre-programmed dynamic lighting scenes, such as effects mimicking a lava lamp or a waterfall, to personalize your desk environment.

The dock also supports Nanoleaf’s screen-mirroring feature. When enabled, the LEDs will dynamically sample colors from your computer’s display and replicate them, creating an immersive effect that extends the visual experience of games or movies beyond the screen. If you happen to be a music enthusiast, you’ll be glad to know that the dock also integrates Nanoleaf’s Orchestrator technology. This feature analyzes audio output from the computer in real time, synchronizing the LED lighting effects with the rhythm, beat, and mood of the music being played. It’s pretty cool, all things considered.

This is available for $59.99 (with a small increase from its original $49.99 price in the US due to tariffs, if you can even believe it) and you can buy it now on Nanoleaf’s website.
