Microsoft is reportedly testing a new “Continue from phone” feature for Android in the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.3858 (KB5039327), which was released to the Beta channel on Friday.
Windows 11 23H2 update tests a “Continue from Phone” feature
According to a new report from Windows Latest, the new feature is available in the “All apps” section of the Start menu. However, the publication added that nothing happened when clicked on this option despite connecting the mobile phone to the PC using Phone Link.
PhantomOcean3, an X (Twitter) user and a Windows enthusiast, also tried out the new feature. However, it did not launch a dialog box after clicking; instead, the process was just running in the background, according to the references in the update.
“This is an executable that provides users with the convenience of resuming their work using the same file on oneDrive that they had been using on another device in the last few minutes while their PC was locked,” reads the description of the “Continue from Phone” feature in a PRI file.
As per the description, the feature will allow users to resume working on a file using the same file on OneDrive that they were using on another device, even after switching devices. For instance, if you are working on an Excel document on your phone, you can continue working on it from your PC, even after swapping devices.
The description also states “in the last few minutes,” which means that one must use this feature within a certain time frame.
