Leaked Images of the New HTC One M8 Prime!

The HTC One M8 Prime, whose existence leaked not too long ago, now has it’s first supposed press rendering, courtesy of @evleaks. Through his Twitter channel and wesbite, we get a clear look at the upcoming “super” flagship’s rear panel, and thankfully, it shows a different camera module than the one shipped with the original M8.

The biggest gripe most owners have with their M8 is the UltraPixel camera. HTC’s war against megapixels is one that the company is losing, and they seem poised to deliver a device with a bigger, and better shooter.

Aside from these renders, leaks have pointed towards the following specs on the upcoming device:

  • 2560 x 1440 QHD (2K) Display
  • 5.5-inch screen size
  • Snapdragon 805 Chipset
  • 3 GB of RAM
  • 16 GB onboard memory

Past information stated that the rear camera could be either 5 MP or 18 MP. But with devices like the Samsung Galaxy S5 with its 16 MP camera, as well as the soon-to-be-released LG G3 and its likely 15+ MP shooter, HTC will need to place a better camera on its device.

The render, if accurate, confirms that the camera module is different, and bigger, which likely means more megapixels, better optical zoom, and possibly even optical image stabilization. Of course, only time will tell, but let’s hope HTC listened to the chorus of disappointment and took action with their upcoming device.
