Leaked Early: HTC 10 Revealed! Check out the Sneak Peek!

It’s déjà vu all over again for HTC. A day before they were set to announce their latest flagship smartphone, the HTC 10, a leaked video has surfaced, showcasing the new phone’s design and specs. This compounds an earlier leak concerning the name and design of the device.

The video shows off the HTC 10’s full exterior, which remains true to their recent design scheme. There are a few standouts, though, like the beveled edges on the rear of the device and the USB-C port that’s showing up on more and more devices.

The leaked specifications for the HTC 10 coincide with previous speculation:

  • 5.2-inch QHD display with 1440 x 2560 resolution
  • Snapdragon 820 chipset by Qualcomm (we’d presume quick-charging as well)
  • 3,000 mAh battery
  • Aforementioned USB Type C 3.1 port

The rear camera has apparently received an upgrade as well, coming at 12 megapixels, which should grab the attention of those previously unhappy with the less-than-stellar UltraPixel cameras. The device will have better optical image stabilization and laser auto-focus, according to Dutch site GSM Help Desk. There’s also a front-facing camera coming in at 5 megapixels.

Other standout features on the HTC 10 supposedly include a physical home button with a fingertip sensor, Bluetooth 4.2 connection capabilities, a simpler layout that takes influence from the HTC One A9, and a new BoomSound setup that pairs a small speaker built into the phone with a speaker built into the earpiece. Judging by the video, the HTC 10 will be available in black, white, and gold. Of course, the April 12th online event will be one to check out for the curious, to see if all this really pans out or not.
