Apple released the sixth beta for iOS 11.3 on Friday, March 16. It comes as a surprise, considering the company released the fifth beta only four days ago — an unexpectedly short time between updates. This new beta, much like beta 5, appears to bring minor patches and bug fixes.
Those who are a developer or public beta tester with a valid configuration profile can download the latest beta right now. Jump to “General” in your Settings app, tap on “Software Update,” then follow the on-screen instructions to download and install iOS 11.3 beta 6 onto your iPhone.
- Update: iOS 11.3 Released with Battery Health Tools, New Animoji & More
The sudden release of iOS 11.3 beta 6 leads us to believe the official 11.3 release could be dropping in the near future. Apple usually doesn’t release more than seven betas per cycle, sometimes releasing fewer than that. In any case, chances are the official 11.3 build is on the horizon, likely either next week or the following week.
The new iOS 11.3 promises an assortment of features and fixes. We’ve seen new Animoji for iPhone X, Messages on iCloud, and imported health records in the Health app, to name a few.

Apple also includes additional battery health information and performance throttling controls after last year’s battery scandal. Apple seems to hope that 11.3 can be a fresh start for not only some of these issues but for restoring trust after a tumultuous iOS release.
