iOS 11.2 is Here! Bug Fixes, Apple Pay Cash, & More Fun Stuff

It’s been a busy week for Apple. After two beta updates in one week, iOS 11.2 was released to the public around 1:30 a.m. PT on Saturday, Dec. 2. Usually, Apple releases updates around 10 a.m. PT, but this one was rushed in the wake of a huge time/date bug that was causing some iPhones to crash on Dec. 2 once 12:15 a.m. local time hit. But bug fixes aren’t the only thing in this new iOS version.

As we’ve seen in some of the iOS 11.2 betas, the final release hitting your iPhone includes many new features, the biggest being Apple Pay Cash, which can be used to pay for purchases online and in-stores, as well as be sent and received from friends and family members directly in the Messages app. While the feature has been pushed in iOS 11.2, not everyone has access to it yet, so be patient as it rolls out over the next week.

Other big changes include support for fast wireless charging on the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and X, a fix for the laggy Calculator app, a “Live Sports” tab appearing in the TV app, a few tweaked emoji, and new wallpapers for everyone.
