It’s all about widgets. Widgets are one of the most important features on an Android phone—they can provide valuable information at a glance and are easily customizable.
You can download widgets for the weather, news, Tweets, and so on, but there are limitations as to what kind of widgets you can add when using the stock lock screen widget for Android 4.2.

You can create an extension to open Google Chrome to your favorite site, or call your girlfriend right from the lock screen. Just choose what you want your widget to do, then select an icon that will be displayed on your lock screen.
