Exciting News: Get Your Hands on the Latest HTC One Right After the March 25th Launch!

Well, that’s one way to get a leg up on Samsung! Announced earlier today, Carphone Warehouse has stated that the new HTC One, dubbed the M8, will go on sale around 4pm on Tuesday, March 25th, “minutes” after the official announcement to unveil the product from HTC.

According to the press release, the “handsets will be transported directly from the venue of the launch announcement to six Carphone Warehouse stores in London”. A first for a smartphone manufacturer, the move will give HTC a couple of weeks of sales prior to the release of Samsung’s next flagship, the Galaxy S5. Keep in mind that this news comes from a UK retailer, and presently, we don’t know if this strategy will be in effect for other retailers, based out of the UK or elsewhere.

US carriers are notorious for holding product releases until they can inject their own bloatware and restrictions, so take this news with a grain of salt if you reside statewide. Then again, this is an interesting strategy for HTC, who desperately needs their new flagship to sell, and sell hard. Getting a leg up on what will undoubtedly be their biggest competitor can make the HTC One M8 a hot seller for those looking to upgrade to a premium device.
