While it might be a little past its prime now, the running gag about Nokia phones never breaking was one of the internet’s favorite jokes. “If you buy one,” they would say, “you’ll never need another phone again.” I think if those users could see into the future, they’d change their tune, as the Nokia 6 is now available to preorder — and I’m guessing it would give any of Nokia’s old bricks a run for their money.
We knew already knew about Nokia’s latest smartphone’s potentialto reach US shores, but now, that news is confirmed — starting today, you can preorder the Nokia 6, which will ship July 10.
It is a mid-range smartphone, so don’t expect it to perform as well as say a Samsung Galaxy S8 or iPhone 7. Still, it has some decent specs: a Snapdragon 430 chipset with an octacore 1.4 GHz CPU and 505 GPU powers the phone, which pairs nicely with 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable storage, and a 1920 x 1080 FHD display made from Gorilla Glass 3. Not bad at all.
It seems like an even sweeter deal when you hear the price — has exclusivity to US sales at the moment, and is selling the phone for $229 for all colors and versions. But, if you are an Amazon Prime member, that price goes down to just $179 for the ad-supported models, which is kind of unbelievable (if you don’t mind ads).
