Apple iPhone 16 Pro Tipped To Get 20% Brighter Display: Report

We have exclusive news and rumors pouring in about Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone 16 series, which is expected to be released sometime in the second half of this year.

iPhone 16 Pro display tipped to offer 20% increase in brightness compared to iPhone 15 Pro

Apple 16 Pro Tipped To Get 20% Brighter Display

Tipster Instant Digital (translated from Chinese) claims in a Weibo post that the purported iPhone 16 Pro may feature a display that is up to 20% brighter than the current generation phones when displaying SDR content, showcasing the cutting-edge advancements in smartphone technology (via Macrumors).

As per the Weibo leaker, the iPhone 16 Pro will have a typical SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) brightness of 1,200 nits, delivering a 20% increase over the iPhone 15 Pro, which has a typical max brightness of 1,000 nits for all your everyday browsing.

However, the phone’s peak HDR (High Dynamic Range) brightness level of 1,600 nits and maximum brightness level of 2,000 nits will not change when it is outdoors.

When Apple writes device specifications on its website, the tech giant usually provides the numbers for HDR and non-HDR brightness limits. These numbers indicate how bright the device’s screen will be when HDR and non-HDR content are displayed.

Having said this, the other change that is rumored to be seen in the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro models is the size of the display panels on both Pro handsets. For instance, the iPhone 16 Pro model is expected to have a 6.27-inch display (159.31 mm), while the ‌‌iPhone 16 Pro‌‌ Max will feature a 6.85-inch (174.06 mm) screen.

It is also rumored that Apple is reportedly planning to increase the display size of its upcoming iPhone 16 series by adopting a new Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology. The BRS technology will allow the company to shrink the bezels of the iPhone 16 line-up, giving the smartphones a virtually borderless display.

Other upgrades likely to arrive include a faster A18 chip, larger batteries on the iPhone 16 Pro models, and a new dedicated ‘Capture’ button for photo or video captures on the upcoming iPhone 16 series. In contrast, the iPhone 16 models are expected to have a vertical camera layout, as suggested in earlier leaks.

It is important to note that all the above information is not official and should be taken with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned for more updates!
