You may have noticed that the HTC One Google Play Edition has a fancy red live wallpaper added to the list of live wallpapers. This new one is called “Sunbeam,” and I’m going to show you quickly how you can get it on your regular HTC One right now.
Step 1: Enable Unknown Sources
First, you will need to enable Unknown sources in the security settings, since you will be installing an APK file. By default, Android blocks the installation of third-party APK files for security reasons.
Go to Settings -> Security and tap on the Unknown sources box to check it.
Step 2: Download & Install the Wallpaper
Now, just download the APK file of the Sunbeam live wallpaper (extracted from the HTC One GPE) and install it.
- Download the Sun Beam wallpaper from here onto your device.
- Tap the download notification once it has finished and install it like you would any other APK file.
Step 3: Set the Wallpaper
Now that the wallpaper is installed, you’ll need to apply it in the settings.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Personalize.
- Tap Wallpaper and select Live Wallpapers.
- Scroll to Sun Beam and tap Apply.
Now, enjoy your new Sun Beam live wallpaper!
